1. What cookies and similar technologies are
Cookies are small pieces of information stored on or accessed from your device when you use a website. Similar technologies can include local storage, software development kits, pixels and device identifiers. They can support essential functions, remember preferences, measure usage or support advertising.
UK rules require clear information about these technologies and, in many cases, consent before non-essential cookies or similar technologies are used.
2. Current use on Merewell
The current Merewell website is designed to function without non-essential advertising or analytics cookies. We do not currently set behavioural advertising cookies through this site. Standard server and network logs may still be created by infrastructure providers as part of delivering and securing web requests.
Because non-essential cookies are not activated by default, there is no persistent consent pop-up on the current site. If our technology changes and consent becomes necessary, we will introduce an appropriate consent mechanism before setting the relevant non-essential technology.
3. Strictly necessary technologies
Strictly necessary technologies may be used when required for security, network management, fraud prevention, load balancing, accessibility or a service you expressly request. These technologies are not used to build advertising profiles. Their retention period depends on the technical purpose and is kept no longer than reasonably necessary.
4. Analytics technologies
Analytics tools can help a business understand matters such as page visits, navigation paths and technical performance. Merewell does not currently activate optional analytics cookies on this site. If optional analytics are introduced, they will be described here and, where required, activated only after an appropriate user choice.
5. Marketing and advertising technologies
Marketing cookies can be used to measure advertising, limit repetition or build audiences based on browsing behaviour. Merewell does not currently activate marketing cookies or behavioural advertising pixels through this site. A future marketing tool would be subject to an updated disclosure and any consent requirements that apply at that time.
6. Third-party resources
The site may request technical resources such as hosted fonts or icon styles from specialist providers. When your browser requests a third-party resource, that provider receives standard connection information such as IP address and browser headers. We assess suppliers and aim to keep third-party requests proportionate to the service.
Third-party websites you choose to visit from outside Merewell operate under their own privacy and cookie practices.
7. Browser controls and your choices
Most browsers allow you to view, delete or block cookies and to control storage permissions. Blocking strictly necessary technologies may affect the operation of a service that depends on them. You can also use private-browsing features and device privacy settings where available.
If Merewell later offers optional analytics or marketing technologies, the relevant choice mechanism will be designed so that refusing non-essential cookies does not prevent access to ordinary site content.
8. Retention
Retention depends on the purpose of each technology. Session technologies are generally removed when the browser session ends. Persistent technologies, if introduced, will have defined lifetimes and will be listed in an updated version of this policy or within the consent interface.
9. Updates and contact
We may update this policy if our technology or legal requirements change. The date at the top shows when the current policy was revised. Questions may be directed to Bondsmith Savings LTD at 2nd Floor, 124-128 City Road, London, EC1V 2NJ, using [email protected] or +441612485534.
